Idea Star Singer: Bad Timing?

From Mani’s comment on my earlier post:

I am fed up of hearing the contestants saying that they were sick, had sore throat and fever, why make excuses? I feel that people making these excuses should get 50 points reduced from their total score.

I had also noticed this aspect of Idea Star Singer competition where many participants claim to have a sore throat or chest infection. It is irritating for the viewers, but I am wondering if there is another side to this proverbial coin. Monsoon rains are in full swing now in Kerala and the climate is very wet and chilly. Could it be that at least some of those people really have a sore throat.. what say?

I am well aware of the fact that this is the monsoon season et.c. What bothers me when the contestants make excuses like this whether they mean to say ” I would have done much better had I not had this ailment”. You are in a big time contest and your chance is there to show your talents, show it whether you have a sore throat or not. If you did not do well enough, that is tough luck, and do not expect my sympathy votes, “Oh yes, this kid is sick, let us our votes because he or she is sick. This is not fair and that is why I stated that they should deduct marks from the total !( I made similar commants about the contestants making excuses in another program and the anchor finally said that excuses will not be tolerated) . Funnily enough, these contestants do sing well at the contest.
I certainly am not questioning the genuine symptoms of certain contestants, but when this becomes an epidemic, it raises a red flag!!!
    Thank you.

Hi I trying to pointed out another thing all singers doing. All singers are singing Tamil or Hindi. What happended.malayalam don’y have any good songs for them to proove their talents.Dosen’t mean that other language songs are not good.Since it is malayalam show try to keep malayalam songs as possible. Also put one round for other language, they can sing these songs. But now too many these kinds of song, other than the limit

it should be made strict that singers sing in malayalam Language.an other language round can be given. this is amalayalam channel .In tamil channel Nobody will be singing Malayalam Like this.
we have to respwct our language. ofcourse there is no languagebarrier for Music.

Yes, what u said is correct. It is irritating when I hear these Excuses. I think most guys and gals have confidence, so they are blaming their health condition….In the grooming section they must be groomed so that they can increase their confidence level and the way or presenting themselves before the viewers

a bad carpenter blames his tools; a bad programmer blames his users; a bad signer blames his throat…. No wonder at all.

Of course what u said is correct. Only a bad singer blames his/her throat. And why Renjini supports them. The singers alone singing and they alone blames. Renjini don’t interfere in that cases. She is only an anchor.

I too agree with what u say. Some times activities of renjani irritate the viewers. Anchor should be an anchor. some times she is biased. Malayalam should be made compulsary and an round for other language songs should be given.
